📣When life kicks the SHOUT out of you

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN:

FEM FRIDAY EDITION

March 13, 2026

Happy FEM Music Friday!

Today, no mincing words, no pleasantries...

Sometimes life just kicks the SHOUT out of you.

I know I am not the only one feeling it right now. This was a big topic of conversation on our FMA call last week.

A lot of people feel disoriented and disillusioned. A little discouraged. Wondering if anything they do actually makes a difference.

When the world feels complicated, it is easy to start thinking our small contributions do not matter.

Since I work with hundreds of artists, I'd like to provide you some perspective

I work with artists who are using their music to move people. Not in some huge dramatic way. In real human ways.

A lyric that makes someone rethink something they believed.

A song that gives someone the courage to have a conversation they were avoiding.

A melody wrapped around a transformational idea that sticks in listeners' heads long enough to make a lasting imprint.

Music carries words into places other mediums just cannot reach...

When someone hears a message wrapped in a melody, they take it with them. It lives in their car, in their headphones, in their memory. It travels further than we often realize.

That is why we do our Music With A Conscience series on Women of Substance Radio every fall. Because I have seen again and again that the songs you ladies write can move hearts and minds. Sometimes in big ways. Often in small ways with one individual person.

And you never know what kind of ripple that one person creates next.

I don't need to tell you how to infuse important messages in your music. Most of you have already got that covered.

...maybe you're just feeling a little muted and sheepish right now.

It's time to regroup and refuel to restore the power and conviction of your unique voice. Your SHOUT.

Your SHOUT is not just about confidence in your message though. It's also knowing how to communicate that message in both directly and in subtle signals.

Those "subtle signals" are things like brand voice, logo, colors, the words you use (or don't use), the stories you tell, etc.

In our Build Your Brand Book session next week, we are helping you turn your deeper message into something clear and powerful that is immediately recognizable and people can actually connect with.

If you want to build your brand book with us, you can check out the details here.

Keep writing. Keep sharing. The songs you are creating may reach further than you will ever know.

Always in your corner,
<3 Bree

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN WEEKLY NEWSLETTER March 11, 2026 Hey there, Profitable Musician! I heard a speaker say something recently that made the whole room laugh. He said, “99.9 percent of the world is already unsubscribed from your fan email list.” As Homer Simpson points out in his oh-so-quotable way, "It's funny! It's funny because it's true." Most of us have been trained to feel protective about our email lists. Every time someone unsubscribes there is that little sting. Did I say something...

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN: FEM FRIDAY EDITION March 6, 2026 Happy FEM Friday! This Sunday, March 8, is International Women's Day. I have to admit, until this year, I didn't realize there was an annual theme for International Women's Day. But when I decided to focus this newsletter around it, I discovered that the 2026 theme is a perfect fit for what we do at Profitable Musician and Women of Substance. This year’s theme, "Give To Gain", is all about reciprocity, emphasizing action, generosity, and...
