It’s the very first one.
That welcome email you send right after someone joins your list? That’s the one. And if you’re thinking, Really? That one?… I get it.
It might not feel as exciting as dropping a new track or as important as selling tickets. But here’s what most musicians don’t realize:
Your welcome email is your highest opened email. Every. Time.
It’s the moment you’re most likely to have someone’s full attention. They just discovered you. They’re curious. They’re open. That first impression sets the tone for everything that comes next
You’re already doing the hard part.
You’re putting yourself out there at shows. You’re going live. You’re posting consistently on social. You’re showing up, creating, performing, connecting.
That takes energy. Courage. Time.
But if you don’t have a well-crafted welcome email in place, you’re leaving all that effort on the table. You’re getting in front of people and then not giving them a next step that actually draws them closer.
You’re catching their attention… but not capturing their loyalty.
A great welcome email doesn’t just say “hey, thanks.” It gives new fans a reason to care, to keep listening, to follow through. It’s what turns passive interest into real connection.
And yes—people do read it all the way to the bottom… when it’s written with purpose..
But when that moment is wasted?
People drift. They forget. They unsubscribe. Or worse, they stay on your list but never open another email again.
That first email is the beginning of what could become a real relationship—a fan who sticks around, shows up, buys your music, and tells their friends. But only if you make it count.
Most musicians either don’t send one at all… or they throw something together that doesn’t actually say anything meaningful.
And I get why. Writing it can feel awkward. Maybe a little overwhelming. It’s hard to know what to include, how personal to get, how much is too much.
But while you're waiting to figure it out, you're losing people who might have loved you—if you'd just given them a reason to.
That’s why I’m teaching a live workshop inside the Female Musician Accelerator that walks you through exactly how to write a welcome email that actually connects. The kind that makes someone feel like they’ve just joined something special.
We’ll talk through the 4 essential elements, I’ll show you real-life examples, and you’ll walk away with a done-for-you template that makes writing it way less scary.
This is one of those things you don’t want to put off. Because every day you wait is a missed opportunity to turn that new subscriber into a true fan.
Join the Female Musician Accelerator now so you can get into the workshop, grab the template, and finally get this foundational piece of your music business working for you.
Because the most important email you’ll ever send… shouldn’t be an afterthought.
Always in your corner,
<3 Bree
