Happy FEM Friday!

Let’s talk about a phrase I hear all the time. One you’ve probably said to yourself when you think about promoting your music:

“I know I need to put myself out there…”

But every time I hear it, I wince a little. Not because the intention is wrong—but because the language we use is so important when convincing ourselves whether to take action or not.

Here's why it matters...

In this issue

🤿Don't "Put yourself out there" - do this instead.

📻Add These Songs To Your Playlist

“Putting yourself out there” makes it sound like you’re about to step into danger.

Like you’re standing on a stage in front of strangers in your underwear.

Like you're walking to the edge of a cliff and hoping not to fall.

That phrase—putting yourself out there—triggers all your primal fear responses. It sets your nervous system on high alert, because it implies exposure, vulnerability, judgment, and risk.

No wonder it feels hard. No wonder you keep postponing that post, that email, that video. It feels unsafe.

But here’s the thing. You’re not putting yourself out there. You’re letting people know about something you’ve created.

You’re sharing your music. That’s it. That’s the reframe.

Not everyone will like it. And that's OK. But it doesn't say anything fundamental about you.

Your worth isn’t on trial. You are not your last song or your follower count. You're a woman making music because it’s part of who you are—and that’s enough.

So instead of saying, “I need to put myself out there,” try saying this:

➡️ “I’m going to let people know I made something.”

It’s neutral. It’s clear. It’s true.

You’re not pushing. You’re not begging. You’re informing and inviting.

The reaction people have is not a reflection of your talent or value—it’s just data.

Maybe your post went out at a weird time. Maybe your audience isn’t the right one yet. Maybe they’re busy. None of that has anything to do with you as a human or your right to keep creating.

And let’s be real: if the emotional weight of being “out there” is what’s holding you back, then reframing this one phrase might just change everything.

Because you’re not chasing validation—you’re building a body of work. A legacy. A habit.

And that habit gets stronger every time you quiet the noise in your head and take the next small, simple step.

So this week, I want you to do one thing:

🎯 Tell someone about your music.

That’s it. One person, one post, one DM. Keep it chill. Keep it true. You're not exposing yourself—you're opening a door.

And the right people? They'll walk through it.

Once you're in the right mindset about this, you can start employing some of my favorite strategies to magnetically attract your perfect-fit fans.
