PROFITABLE MUSICIAN:

FEM FRIDAY EDITION

February 27, 2026

Happy FEM Friday!

You know that feeling.

You open a new document. The cursor blinks. The page stares back at you.

And instead of words, what shows up is the weight of starting from scratch, with the whole project still in front of you.

Write the captions. Map out the launch. Plan the content. Figure out what to even say.

For musicians, that blank page isn't just annoying. It's one of the biggest reasons consistency breaks down.

Not because you don't care. You care deeply.

Not because you're lazy. No lazy person could have been dedicated enough to write and record the whole album you're about to put out.

But because starting is genuinely hard when you're staring at nothing and trying to turn it into something...

So I get why AI has become the go-to fix for blank page syndrome.

And honestly? I'm not here to bash it. I use it constantly. It gets something on the screen fast. It break the blank page syndrome wide open.

It's a genuinely useful tool and I've spent the better part of the last year figuring out how to get the most out of it for music marketing specifically. I'd say I've got it working up to about 60% of the way.

But here's where I see artists get into trouble.

When the blank page panic sets in, it's easy to go straight from nothing to AI output and call it done. You type in a prompt.

"Write me an email to promote my next show."

"Give me 30 posts to tease my album."

"Build me a release plan."

And within seconds, you've got something. The blank page is gone. The relief is real.

Until you actually read it.

Because what AI gives you in that moment is generic.

It doesn't know how you talk. It doesn't know the stories only you can tell. It doesn't know the specific things about you and your music that make people stop scrolling and actually pay attention.

It has no idea what's worked for artists like you over years of trial and error, because it hasn't lived that.

The output looks like content. But it doesn't sound like you. And your perfect-fit fans feel that difference even when they can't name it.

The blank page problem is real. But replacing a blank page with content that could have come from anyone isn't actually solving it.

What actually solves it is knowing exactly where to start and having a framework built on something AI can't replicate: your experience.

I've been doing this for my own music for over 20 years. I've been working with independent artists for over 10 years.

The strategies, templates, planners and checklists inside The Big Book of Authentic Audience Connection aren't AI generated.

They're accumulated. Time-tested. Built from real results with real artists who were dealing with the same blank screens you are right now.

That's the foundation AI is missing. And that's what makes the difference between content that fills space and content that actually builds an audience.

Start with the Big Book. Get your footing. Know what you're saying and why it works.

Then if you want to use AI to help you enhance it or expand it, go for it. At that point you're using it as a tool instead of a crutch.

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN WEEKLY NEWSLETTER February 25, 2026 Hey there, Profitable Musician! I've talked to a lot of musicians lately who are doing everything right. Putting out good music. Staying consistent. Showing up online. But they're feeling like they're playing to an empty room. And the thing that gets me every time is how fast they turn that inward. They start pulling apart the mix. Second-guessing the lyrics. Wondering if the song was even good to begin with. And eventually that quiet,...

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN: FEM FRIDAY EDITION February 20, 2026 Happy FEM Friday! A few years ago I submitted my music to my hometown Christian radio station. I remember the feeling — that specific mix of nerves and hope that comes with doing something that actually matters to you. A full-circle moment, maybe. Something to point to. The guy who selected the music wrote back and told me he was passing because...I wasn't a good singer. What? I'd never heard that before. I'd like to tell you I brushed...

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN FEM MUSIC FRIDAY EDITION February 13, 2026 Happy FEM Friday! I want to talk about something that sneaks into almost every release cycle, especially for women who are coming back to music after building a whole life that demanded a lot of you. Pressure. That feeling that this next song has to prove something. That it has to justify the time you spent away from work or family. That it has to make up for lost years. That it has to be the one that finally gets people to pay...
