🏈Steal my MVPs (Most Valuable Posts)

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

February 4, 2026

Hey there, Profitable Musician!

In honor of the upcoming Super Bowl, I am about to lean hard into some very cheesy football references.

Normally, I would not do this. I love football and I'm usually seriously invested.

But my team, the 49ers, are not in the Super Bowl this year. And to make it worse, their big rival the Seahawks are. So I am watching with far less enthusiasm and way more side eye than usual.

Which means this year is the perfect time for some cringe-worthy football analogies.

So instead of talking about football's Most Valuable Players (MVPs), we're talking about your music career MVPs - your Most Valuable Posts...

🎧Crafting A Magnetic Fan Attraction System

Your Most Valuable Posts are the top 9 squares on your Instagram profile, often referred to as your 9 Grid.

I've been talking about the importance of these 9 posts for about 9 months. And since I implemented my own MVPs last May, I've experienced first-hand how powerful they can be when created with a strategy.

But most musicians leave their top 9 posts up to chance instead of following a play-by-play (or post-by-post) strategy pulled from a play book.

Here's what I see when I visit most IG profiles:

  • A gig photo here
  • A quote there
  • A video clip from a concert
  • A promotional post (maybe)

Then they wonder why someone lands on their profile and leaves without following, listening, or signing up for their email list.

The problem is that their grid does not tell a clear story.

This is where frameworks a.k.a. playbooks (to continue my cheesy football theme) come in.

Frameworks work because:

  • they remove decision fatigue
  • they give your brain boundaries so your creativity can actually shine through
  • they help your audience instantly understand who you are and why you matter to them.

Here's what I know: you are trying to make an immediate connection with the right people who will actually care about your message and will stick around.

That's why these 9 posts are prime real estate.

Think of your Instagram grid like the first few plays of a game. They set the tone for what's to come.

A new visitor or listener shows up. They scan. They decide in seconds whether to stay.

A strong 9 Grid does that job for you without you saying a word.

Here is the big idea. Each row of your grid has a purpose.

  1. The top row is your hook. This is where new visitors "get" you. Your energy. Your humanity. Your artistry. It is not about explaining your whole story. It is about making someone pause and think, oh she feels real or she's kinda like me, but cooler.
  2. The middle row is your credibility. Not bragging. Just showing. This is where someone understands what you do, what you stand for, and that you are serious about your music and your impact. For so many women I work with, this is the missing piece. They downplay their wins or hide their experience because they do not want to be thought of as bragging. But credibility builds trust. And trust builds fans.
  3. The bottom row is connection plus invitation. This is where you deepen the relationship with a story, a glimpse behind the scenes, a clear next step that feels like an invitation, not a pitch. Most musicians never get here. Or they jump straight here without earning it first.

Here's why this combination works so well. It mirrors how real connection happens.

Just think about how you connect with new people in real life. We're trying to reproduce and accelerate that process.

When this is dialed in, the right fans are magnetically attracted to you. Instead of feeling confused, unengaged or sold to, the 9 strategically created posts develop an unconscious sense of familiarity and likeability.

They immediately know they've arrived on friendly turf. And that "home team" feeling leads them to hit follow and even binge your other posts.

Next week, we are actually going to be building these 9 Most Valuable Posts together live during the Insta Fan Connection 9 Grid System "Get It Done Week."

But before we dive into the 9 Grid together, I wanted you to understand why this works and why it is such a powerful yet under-utilized playbook for musicians.

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN: FEM FRIDAY EDITION January 30, 2026 Happy FEM Music Friday! If you’ve got a Linktr.ee set up...honestly, good for you. You’re ahead of so many musicians who still don’t have a central place for people to find their music, mailing list, shows, or offers. But here’s the problem… A linktr.ee is like leading potential fans, venues or students into a dark hallway with 10 different doors and no clear signage. It gives people options, sure. But it doesn’t guide them. It doesn't...

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN WEEKLY NEWSLETTER January 28, 2026 Hey there, Profitable Musician! I want to talk about something that comes up every time we discuss social media, video, or getting in front of an audience in a new way. Being disliked. Not the dramatic kind. Not trolls or hate comments (though those happen too, and they sting). Just the ordinary, uncomfortable reality that when you put yourself out there, some people will not like it. They will not like your voice. Or your stories. Or...
