Link🌳 is good...but this is 10x more effective

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN:

FEM FRIDAY EDITION

January 30, 2026

Happy FEM Music Friday!

If you’ve got a Linktr.ee set up...honestly, good for you.

You’re ahead of so many musicians who still don’t have a central place for people to find their music, mailing list, shows, or offers.

But here’s the problem…

A linktr.ee is like leading potential fans, venues or students into a dark hallway with 10 different doors and no clear signage.

It gives people options, sure. But it doesn’t guide them.

It doesn't tell a story.

And it definitely doesn’t help them understand why they should keep clicking or following.

I’m not knocking Linktr.ee - I used it for years myself. But this past year, I replaced it with...

In this issue

🥽Linktr.ee is good...but this is better!

🛠️Let's "Get It Done" Together in February!

I replaced it with an Instagram 9 Grid.

Why?

Because I realized how much potential attention I was leaving on the table by sending people to a generic list of links with no context or flow.

Let’s be honest, most visitors will only give you a few seconds of their time. And if they land on a page that doesn’t grab them immediately or show them why they should stick around?

They’re gone.

A well-designed 9-grid gives you that context. It’s like a visual, scrollable welcome tour that:

  • Tells your story
  • Highlights your most important offerings
  • Builds trust
  • And actually gets people to take action—whether that’s joining your list, streaming your music, buying merch, or booking a lesson.

You don’t need to toss Linktr.ee, just upgrade the experience.

I want to be clear: Linktr.ee isn’t bad. It’s just not native to Instagram and it/s not optimized.

It’s a starting point. But what if, instead of just showing people a bunch of clickable doors, you could walk them through the one you want them to take?

That’s the power of a 9-grid. You’re not guessing what they’ll click. You’re designing a journey that hooks them in, bit by bit, square by square.

It’s like turning your Instagram into a homepage, press kit, and sales page, all without needing a separate website or the constant pressure to post every day.

You've worked hard to get some attention on Instagram.

Now the question is: What are you doing with it?

I created the Insta Fan Connection 9-Grid System to help musicians like you set up a grid that feels authentic, intentional, and actually works to grow your fanbase or income (or both).
