😴 I recorded my first album at 2 AM!

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN:

FEM FRIDAY EDITION

October 10, 2025

Happy FEM Friday!

The first album I ever recorded was while I was pregnant.

During my first pregnancy, my daughter was prone to hiccups EVERY SINGLE NIGHT about 2 AM.

I would toss and turn and try to go back to sleep, but it never happened.

So after nights of lying awake watching my stomach bounce up and down, I started a new routine...

In this issue

🥽I Recorded My First Album At 2 AM!

I started immediately getting up at the sign of the first hiccup and retreating to my home office.

I had built a simple home studio because, after writing music for years, I wanted a way to get my songs out of my head and into the ears of potential fans without having to reserve and pay for time in a studio whenever I wrote a new song.

And that's how most of the tracks on my first digital album were recorded at 2 AM...

while my daughter tuned in to my music between hiccups...which I strongly believe is why she is so musical today.

In fact, I discovered by accident that music can even cure hiccups (temporarily:) Maybe it's the vibration?

Anyway...

If you're a singer/songwriter, you've probably realized like I did how much time and money you could save recording from home.

AND...it would allow you to record on your own schedule - even at 2 AM if necessary!

Imagine - laying down all your tracks when inspiration (or insomnia) strikes instead of having to get on the studio calendar...

...if you CAN even get into a studio these days (or have the continuous disposable income to keep up with your bursts of songwriting inspiration).

For me, being able to go into my home studio and record whenever I wanted was FREEING and EMPOWERING.

I want that for you.

But maybe you’ve put it off because you’re not tech savvy...or because you don’t have ‘the right gear’ to get started...

I get it. I felt totally "out of my element" when I first started recording from home.

But it doesn't have to be that way, because I've got a SIMPLE solution for you (that will take all the overwhelm and guesswork out of learning to record from home).

That’s the exact problem Produce Like A Boss (P.LAB) was created to solve.

They’ve helped thousands of songwriters (Indies like you and me) transform scattered ideas into finished demos—without the confusion that usually comes with music production.

This coming Monday, October 13 at 2PM ET/11AM PT, P.LAB is pulling back the curtain in a brand new free live training: From Voice Memo to Demo Roadmap - The 3 Shifts to Finally Finish Your First Song

This isn’t another “tips and tricks” session. It’s a breakthrough. A proven roadmap that will help you finally move from stuck to finished.

Imagine closing out 2025 with a completed demo you’re proud to share. That starts here.

Seats are limited and filling fast, so don’t wait until the last minute. Click the button below to Register now for free. And yes, there will be a 48 hour replay.

Always in your corner,

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN WEEKLY NEWSLETTER October 8, 2025 Hey there, Profitable Musician! In my early years as a singer/songwriter, I was writing a lot. I was probably writing one or two new songs each week because I was bursting with inspiration and ideas. I wanted to get my songs in front of people who could give me constructive feedback. I also wanted to enter them into contests and promote them to other artists and sync libraries. But my demos sounded terrible! No one was going to take them...

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN: FEM FRIDAY EDITION October 3, 2025 Happy FEM Music Friday! If you have been hearing a lot of "no" lately, I want you to know there is nothing wrong with you or your dream. Every artist I know has experienced plenty of nos on their way to more yeses (including me). What changes the experience is not begging harder or shrinking smaller. It is a subtler but stronger shift. You begin asking as the version of you who expects good to happen and moves as if it already is. I call...
