Because sometimes we assume our imperfections are louder than they are. We think the whole world is watching, waiting to call us out, when in reality, most people aren’t paying that much attention.
And that brings me to you.
How many times have you hesitated to release a new song, or share a new idea, or try something bold with your music because you were afraid it wouldn’t land?
That it might flop and that failure will become immediately visible to everyone, like a scarlet letter.
That people might notice. That they might talk.
We imagine the worst-case scenario. That our misstep will be broadcast across the internet. That everyone will see us trying and failing and silently mark us as someone who didn’t make it.
But the truth is, people are mostly seeing the highlight reel. Just like you do with other artists.
You see the polished posts, the polished music, the wins. Not the doubts or the learning curves or the half-baked things that never saw the light of day.
And unless you decide to tell them, no one really knows when something doesn’t go the way you hoped.
Trying new things is how we grow. It’s how we build resilience, skill, and insight.
And yes, half the time, maybe more, they don’t go perfectly.
But each attempt brings you one step closer to something that does work. Something that clicks. Something you can celebrate.
You don’t need to share your missteps until you’re ready. And when you are, they can become beautiful teaching moments. But don’t let the fear of being seen in a vulnerable state stop you from ever taking a chance on something you believe in.
This may be a hit to the ego, but you are not being watched as closely as you think.
And even if you are, the right people aren’t waiting for you to fail. They’re rooting for your courage. For your creativity. For your next big move.
Always in your corner,
<3 Bree
