what if your competition became irrelevant?

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN:

FEM FRIDAY EDITION

July 17, 2026

Happy FEM Music Friday!

Sometimes the music world feels like one enormous pond.

You live in Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, or Chicago, where there seems to be another talented musician on every block.

You make music in a crowded genre like country, pop, folk, Christian, or singer songwriter.

You’re approaching the same venues, pitching the same playlists, and trying to reach the same listeners as thousands of other artists.

Some of them are younger. Some have teams. Some seem to create social media content before they’ve even had coffee.

It’s easy to look around that pond and wonder how you could possibly compete...

🥽What If Your Competition Became Irrelevant?

🎧Become An In-Demand Category of One Music Artist

But what if you didn't need to compete at all?

In fact, what if you didn't even have to stay in the same pond?

You can get in your boat and head toward a completely different pond. One where you create the conditions, and you’re the only artist who can fully meet them.

That pond is built around your particular combination of music, lived experience, message, personality, and the way you see the world.

Maybe you’re not simply a folk singer. You create intimate concerts for women rebuilding their lives after loss.

Or you’re not just a Christian artist. Your music helps caregivers reconnect with their faith when they’re exhausted and angry.

Maybe you’re not oonly a jazz singer. You combine music, storytelling, and local history to create an experience no other performer in your city offers.

The more specific the world around your music becomes, the less useful comparison becomes.

You’re no longer trying to beat every artist in your city or your genre.

You’re creating a pond that only you were meant to swim in.

I’m talking more about this in my new private podcast series. It's five episodes you can't find on any podcast app called the Category of One Artist secret podcast series

I created this to help you build that world around your own music that makes the competition irrelevant.

Working with mature female artists, I find that the traditional music industry paths don't always resonate, such as: become a social media influencer vie for limited spots at festivals or hot Industry venues already overrun by Gen Z artists play noisy bars and hope people stop talking and eating, pull out there phone and search for you fight to be heard among a sea of artists (and now AI artists) in your genre on Spotify Which is why I want to show you another way. I've discovered the hidden...

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN: FEM FRIDAY EDITION July 10, 2026 Happy FEM Music Friday! Most musicians can name their busy seasons and slow seasons without looking at their calendar...because they feel it in their bank account. December can get packed with holiday concerts, church services, private parties, and those last-minute opportunities that somehow all end up in the same two-week window. Then January arrives, and the calendar suddenly looks a lot more open than your budget can support. Summer...

PROFITABLE MUSICIAN WEEKLY NEWSLETTER July 8, 2026 Hey there, Profitable Musician! I know we joke about “the check is in the mail,” but when you are the musician waiting for that check, it stops being funny pretty fast. I remember doing luncheon gigs where I would walk in with my merch and my speaker setup, and someone would point me toward my spot at a beautifully decorated table. The best feeling was when I saw a card sitting there with my name on it. Payment handled. I could sing, connect...
